Canceling and Rescheduling

TOSA KICKERS-Fall 2010- Spring 2011
Steps for Canceling and Rescheduling a Game
At the U8 and Older Levels

Tosa Kickers Canceling a Game
If the weather is severe enough or if there has been a lot of rain before the weekend, the Tosa Kickers will cancel games either at all the fields in Tosa or specific fields within Tosa. This message will be on the "HOTLINE" @ 727-0205 - MAILBOX #1. This message only pertains to games played on Tosa Fields. If you learn that your game is cancelled, call your team and the opponent. If the Tosa Kickers do not cancel a game, both teams must show up! If the referee decides that the field is unplayable - he/she may cancel the game on site! A referee may start a game and then decide that the field has become unplayable and subsequently suspend the match.

Cancelled Games for Teams that Play at Uihlein
Uihlein tends to protect their fields during questionable weather periods. If the weather is uncertain, call Uihlein to make sure if there is or not a game. The Tosa "Hotline" message will not relay cancellations at Uihlein. If you learn that the game is cancelled at Uihlein, call your own team and call your opponent to make sure that they are aware of the cancellation. Phone number for Uihlein is 414-358-2678.

Teams may not decide to cancel a game on their own if they feel the weather is poor. This is a club decision and/or a referee decision!!!!!!!!!!!

How to Reschedule a U8 and Older Game Played in Tosa
  1. It is the responsibility of the home team to coordinate the rescheduling of the game.
  2. Both teams need to agree on a date and approximate time for the rescheduled match and then the home team should contact Tim Winn. The preferred choice for a game is the weekend - thus practices aren't interrupted during the week. Play twice on one day if necessary.
  3. Email Tim Winn (twinn2@wi.rr.com) with an option that works for both teams. Tim Winn will assign the field and the referees for your rescheduled game. Teams do not assign their own referees.
  4. Tim Winn will confirm whether or not the time selected for the new game will work at the time that you selected. After confirmation from the Tim Winn for the field - re-confirm with your opponent, players, coaches and managers. Tim Winn will instruct the home team to contact the net person, for the field selected for the reschedule, so that they know that the nets will be picked up for this match.

How to Reschedule a Game Originally scheduled at Uihlein
If your game was originally scheduled at Uihlein, you need to contact Uihlein with the date that you would like to play your game. Make sure that this date works for you and your opponent.

Possible legitimate reasons for canceling a match:
  1. Weather
  2. Soccer Tournament conflicts. This still needs to be done with appropriate notice.
  3. State Cup competition.
  4. Religious observance, however, this should have been blocked out in advance!
  5. Nuclear War
  6. Famine/Flood
Unacceptable reasons for canceling:
  1. Coach can't be at the game. Find a parent to fill in for you!
  2. We won't have any subs, we're short players. So what! The other players get to play more.
  3. Packer game. You've got to be kidding!

Bottom line to everyone is this: The canceling and rescheduling of games is possibly the biggest headache for this soccer club. Please do not change a game unless it is necessary.
